Volume IV Part 1
Scientific findings on conditions for sustainable GRC disaster services
Part 1 describes conditions under which disaster services strengthens resilience: “voluntary commitment”, “knowledge about the target group and its needs” and “networking”. These conditions were identified on the basis of interviews with experts. In this series of publications, the state of scientific research and the current status in the German Red Cross (GRC) on the three topics are reviewed and presented.

The view of the GRC forces: Documentation of the four regional conferences “disaster services”
Part 2 documents and evaluates the results of the four regional conferences on disaster services (2016/17). At the conferences, GRC field workers discussed the supply capacity of disaster services and the associated challenges.
Volume IV Part 3
The view of the GRC leaders: documentation of the expert advisor conference for disaster services
Part 3 summarizes the results of the consultants’ conference “disaster services”. 27 consultants discussed their experiences for improvement in three workshops based on previously set priorities in the areas of commitment/personnel management, networking/communication and skills/resources. On the basis of these focal points, the expert advisors worked out concrete instructions for optimizing the GRC disaster services.
