ResOrt - Resilience through social cohesion – the role of organizations

[Translate to Englisch:] Logo ReSort Forschungsprojekt

Content orientation and results:

International and national studies show that social cohesion is a decisive factor in increasing resilience of the population in crises and disasters. However, the experience of past crisis events also shows, that various organizations that contribute to reducing vulnerability, take this factor into account in very different ways. Similarly, the international and national aid systems differ in terms of integrating social cohesion into their work.

Against this background, the planned joint project will address the question of the role of social cohesion in the work of civil protection organizations, welfare associations, neighborhood organizations and local authorities in coping with crises and upheavals.
