Training opportunities for surge delegates in emergency response

Emergency Response Unit (ERU)

ERUs are part of the global IFRC disaster response system and have been an important component in international relief operations for over 20 years. They are standardised packages of trained personnel and modules of equipment, ready to be deployed at short notice for use in any part of the world. GRC provides different ERUs in the sectors of Health and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

In ERU training courses and workshops, participants will learn about the RCRC Movement, its response tools and the basics of disaster management. They will develop the theoretical and practical skills essential in emergency response as well as the required health and WASH specific knowledge and mindsets.

All training events are open to international participants of the RCRC Movement who are working in a respective field and are held in English. Those training opportunities which are primarily designed for GRC surge delegates are marked with “Open to GRC applicants only” and held in German.
